Date night: make your own cup

Spend an evening with someone you like. You shape, colour and decorate a cup that we fire for you! Ready to take home within the week.

Your evening

1. Welcome and Introductions (15 min). Meet the group, have a drink, pick your mould.
2. Demonstration & Theory (30 min). Explanation of the steps, processes, and brief glaze chemistry.
3. Mould your cup (45 min). Cast and shape your own cup with guidance at every step.
4. Make it yours (60 min). Add stamps, carving or slip decoration with your choice of colourful clay.
5. Wrap-up (15 min). Photos, and a final cup of tea or wine.

What you take home

• Within about a week: the cup you moulded, coloured and personalized.

Make a matching pair, or swap and decorate each other’s cup.

3-day workshop: make a set of cups from start to finish

Learn the whole process we use in the studio. You work through every stage, from raw clay to a glazed, fired cup.

The process

1. Moulding. Shape your cups in the moulds.
2. Drying. The clay dries slowly for 2 to 3 days so it stays strong and does not crack.
3. Trimming. Clean up edges and refine the shape once the clay is dry.
4. First firing (bisque). The kiln hardens the clay. Up to 15 hours, handled by us.
5. Colouring. Apply your colour to the fired cup.
6. Second firing. The kiln sets the colour. Up to 15 hours, handled by us.
7. Glazing. Add the final glaze.

What you take home

Up to 4 finished cups, collected the following week after the workshop.

Tea pet workshops: make your own tea pet/friend!

Learn the whole process we use in the studio. You work through every stage, and bring home a new friend!

What you will do

1. Welcome and Introductions (15 min). Meet the group, have a drink, pick your mould.
2. Demonstration & Theory (30 min). Explanation of the steps, processes.
3. Mixing Natural Resin+Powder colourant (10 min). Mix the materials necessary to produce your tea pet.
4. Casting (10 min). Cast the resin.
5. Demoulding & Finishing (15 min). Remove your tea pet from the mould, and give it it’s final touches!

1 Tea pet / person
